The aim of Men’s Minds is to improve men’s mental health by developing a network supported and directed by the voices of its members.

Why:

Whilst men’s groups might happen through work or the pub, they don’t always fill the gap of sharing what’s really going on. Men can be surrounded by friends and family and still lack the outlets to share how they truly feel.

Men can put pressure on themselves to sort out things on their own, be strong and not burden those close to them with their thoughts.

But in these confidential groups we are looking to overcome obstacles, listen and offer support because talking with others can be the best way to get the things that you want.

We offer a range of activities so you can jump in at any point, from coffee and a walk, to receiving support for some of your challenges and a deeper sharing circle.

What is the Service:

We host a group that meet regularly to share what’s going on and provide support as peers.

A mix of men from different backgrounds matter to us because that helps us to see new sides to issues we may be facing, so we can grow.

Without interruption each man will share their story in their own way, their achievements and their needs before supporting each other.

Listening to others is important and from their experiences you’ll find tools that will help you navigate your own journeys. You don’t have to speak and you’ll be made to feel welcome until you choose too.

Benefits:

People coming to men’s groups find:

  • They can get stuff off their chest, so feel lighter
  • They are saving energy and effort because they are getting tools from people who have been where they are now
  • They are inspired and energised
  • They gain better family and social relationships
  • They become better at communication emotionally and asserting their needs
  • They find clearer direction with purpose and goals
