Connect With Nature
Yes, it coincides with the theme of this year’s Mental Health Awareness week and is something I do on a regular basis. It has always helped me, but especially during the pandemic and lockdowns. Now, when we are in full-blown Spring and everything is blossoming, it is the perfect time to appreciate it.
Here are a few things you can do:
- look outside of your window
- look up/around while you are walking and notice nature around you
- go for a walk
- go to the park and observe the trees, bushes, birds, ponds
- smell flowers
- pause and listen to the wind or singing birds
- observe the sunset and sunrise – even noting how the sky changes its colours can boost your mood
- snap your favourite nature moment + share it with others
- if you are very lucky and have a car – drive to the beach 😎
Nature and its cycles are also a good example and a reminder that “everything changes” and there is beauty in that, too. 😊
